Derik Austin, a good friend of Lewis & Clark Tap Room, was killed in a car accident on Sunday night. He passed away in the ambulance on the way to the hospital, surrounded by the amazing first responders who got there immediately. No one else was badly injured.
Those of you who knew Derik know he was full of laughter, cared deeply about his friends, family and coworkers, and took great pleasure in a cold beer. Years before he died, he asked his wife, Elise, to give him a joyful funeral far from a funeral home. In that spirit, we are holding a celebration of his life at the Lewis and Clark Brewery Tap Room this Tuesday the 16th from 5-8 pm as a benefit to their two surviving preschool-aged kids. $1.00 from each beer you purchase will be donated to Derik’s family. Any donations above and beyond that are welcomed.
Please join us in hoisting a pint, swapping stories, and sharing our sorrow. Your toasts, hugs, and of course beards of all sizes, are welcomed!
It goes without saying, but we will say anyway, that we want everyone who attends to drink responsibility and drive or taxi home safely to those who love you.
