Family Promise’s mission is to work with families that are going through a tough time, whether it’s financial difficulties or those who just need a little bit of extra help. Family Promise provides a family advocate to help families get set up on a system for success.
Double our census of families served, nurturing their growth as they progress from homelessness to sustainable independence
Coordinating with volunteers and facilities, in the last half of 2018, we provided 755 dinners, breakfasts and warm nights of shelter for children and their families in Helena.
Currently needed is a new roof for our day center. The winter was rough on it! Insulation would also be needed to prevent damage from the next cold winter.
The facility van needs several repairs. Family Promise of Greater Helena employs 2 full-time and 1 part time staff for counselling, assisting and educating the families, fundraising and transporting the families as needed.
Family Promise’s main fundraising event is the Comfort Food Challenge, held every year. Several churches, restaurants and caterers volunteer to enter into a fundraising event to show off their cooking skill of different “comfort foods”. There are also silent auctions, raffle items and bake sales during the event. We also send out 2-3 appeal mailings.
We most likely, would put the money toward the roof repairs for the facility, van, operations, etc.
