Helena Young Professionals

November 26, 2019 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm

The mission of Helena Young Professionals is to bring together young professionals in the Helena area through civic engagement, social networking, and professional development, to build each other up and help shape the future of Helena.

Our vision is a vibrant community in which young professionals from across work sectors and social circles engage and interact with ease.

We strive to make everyone feel welcome and included in our events, and our members have said that our events and presence have made their entry into the Helena community easier and more accessible. Especially given our regular event scheduling and variety of topics, we appeal to a wide audience, and we are able to partner with many local organizations to introduce people to all that Helena has to offer.

Areas Served

Our members are young professionals of the greater Helena area. While there is no age limit for members or attendees to our events, the majority of members are between their early twenties to late thirties. The event we are fundraising for will target this same demographic statewide.

Impact

We provide a variety of opportunities and events for people in the area to get involved and make connections with the wider Helena community. Project / Needs

Helena Young Professionals will be hosting the Montana Young Professionals Summit (MYPS) in June 2020, and we are planning two days’ worth of programming, inspirational speakers, and fun networking events for young professionals across the state. We will offer a variety of sessions for attendees to choose from, including professional, educational, and intellectual development opportunities. We will also highlight all that Helena has to offer by partnering with businesses and organizations to feature them throughout the summit. Typically, MYPS requires a much bigger operating budget that HYP currently has, so we are looking to fundraise heavily in order to provide the best experience possible to all who attend.

Other Fundraising

Our membership dues are usually enough to cover the costs of our regular operating budget, but since the scale of MYPS is much larger, we are planning on fundraising for this in the following ways:

1.      Asking local businesses and organizations to sponsor this event, either through sponsorship levels or “a la carte” sponsoring,
2.      Charge summit attendees a registration fee,
3.      Soliciting donations from Helena Young Professional “alumni,”
4.      Requesting in-kind donations from local businesses, and applying for Community Nights at local businesses.

How Will The Funds Be Used

These funds will be used to pay for operating costs for the MYPS 2020 event. A significant portion will be used for procuring speakers, conference space, and food for attendees. A preliminary agenda and/or budget is available for review by request.
