The mission of the Myrna Loy is to inspire Helena by presenting culturally enriching arts experiences of all disciplines; to support local and regional artists in their work; and to foster a lifelong love of the arts through educational projects and experiences.
The Myrna Loy serves Helena and the surrounding area mostly, but folks come from all around Montana, and beyond, to enjoy our live performances. We actively market the Myrna Loy to tourists to Helena as well.
The Myrna Loy shows independent films each day and presents two full seasons of live performances each year. We feature a full concession stand with beer and wine available during films and performances, and an art gallery displaying the work of local and regional artists. At the Myrna Loy, we present diverse, thoughtful, passionate voices that inspire our audiences. We bring art experiences to Helena that would otherwise not visit our town.
We are currently finishing up our 2017-18 season and getting ready to present our full summer 2018 season of exciting live performances. Our ongoing work includes our Arts in Education program which brings our visiting artists to local schools and/or brings students to the Myrna Loy for artist workshops with the goal of fostering a lifelong love of the arts through educational projects and experiences.
The Myrna Loy employs a full-time Development Director and has a robust development plan that includes membership (including major donor and monthly donor programs), business sponsors, an annual raffle, brick sales, and special events.
These funds would be used as general funds to support the mission of the Myrna Loy.
