About The Event
Clayton Spur & The Roughstock Riders
Clayton Spur is a singer/songwriter from the range, currently living at Evan Estrada’s house. While his music has a satirical country base, you may pick up notes of rock n’ roll. Clayton has tried his hand at a multitude of activities including breaking broncos, leather work, target practice and fencing, with barbed wire and with an épée. In November 2020, he traded his six-gun for a six-strings. Evan helped him record take after take to send to his old friends Slick Ric in Austin, TX and Dusty Rattler in Seattle, WA. While they were recording on their own, Clayton and Evan also recorded electric guitar from Sagebrush Sam in Helena, MT. Two years later, and with the help of some other cow-people laying down some hot banjo, loud drums and warm autoharp, Evan collected the tracks and mixed Clayton Spur and the Roughstock Riders’ debut album, Bucka Bucka Forcey. Available everywhere music is…available.
R. Clancy & Joshua Loveland
For Helena, Montana-based Regan Clancy, songs come first. Growing up in a house filled with the sounds of the Beatles and Van Morrison, his love for aching lyrics set to well-crafted melodies was cemented at a young age. Having honed his writing skills over fifteen years as frontman for numerous bands and as a solo artist, Clancy draws from a deep well of influences to compose songs that are honest and inviting, in a style that is wholly his own. Clancy is joined by in-demand multi instrumentalist Joshua Loveland — a gifted producer and songwriter in his own right. Loveland has worked alongside Clancy as a co-conspirator for the past five years, contributing complex pedal steel textures, driving bass guitar riffs, and perfectly blended vocal harmonies.
Together, Clancy and Loveland ambitiously reimagine and rearrange songs on a nightly basis to create richly ephemeral musical moments. Their unique musical partnership is one you will want to see again and again.
R. Clancy has released two EP’s and has recently completed a third, slated for release in fall of 2021. He is currently playing original songs around Montana with Joshua Loveland and with synth-punk outfit Hard Hugs. Joshua Loveland writes and records expansive electronic music under the name telephonetic.
